We missed the Miss Modernism Pageant, slide shows and talks, but had enough time to enjoy displays by our favorite local retro stores Mid Mod and More Furniture Denver, CO – Mid / Mod & More, Mod Livin Modern Furniture | Mid-Century Modern Furniture by Mod Livin’ and Mod Mood ModMood | Contemporary, Vintage, and Retro Furniture. I don’t think Lee Alex Lee Alex Vintage Modern Retro Mid Century Danish Modern Furniture had a booth, but they’re another favorite. I’ll definitely return next year.

And, if you enjoy mid-century modern furniture and decor, you should run to the Kirkland Museum Kirkland Museum – International Decorative Art and Colorado Art as soon as possible. They have the best and most interesting collection of ceramics I’ve seen in Denver.

I discovered I’m not gifted with a disposable camera.

But, these clock radio and Bakelite collections caught my eye.

As did this art by Phil Bender made of old seed packets from the Rocky Mountain Seed Co that went out of business in 2011 after 91 years. Cabbage.

Throwing in a grainy picture of some pink flamingo lamps and a Saarinen Tulip table and chairs for good modern measure.
